Southaven is the other town we name when people ask how far we go. DeSoto County sits on the edge of the Memphis metro and it has grown faster than almost anywhere else in Mississippi, which has a direct effect on the kind of work we do there.

Most of the residential concrete in Southaven and the surrounding towns is relatively young. Newer slabs mean fewer of the problems that eat the budget on an older floor: less cracking, less spalling, less settling. The prep is still non-negotiable and every slab still gets diamond ground, but a sound slab grinds faster, needs less repair, and lets more of what you spend go into the finish rather than into fixing the concrete.

The other thing about DeSoto County is distribution. The warehouse and logistics corridor feeding Memphis runs right through it, and that is a category of floor with its own demands: large areas, forklift traffic, and operations that cannot simply stop while a floor cures. On that kind of job the schedule and the cure window matter as much as the coating, and we will lay both out before anybody starts.

It is a long run from Starkville, so we plan northern trips deliberately. If you are up that way it is always worth asking when we are next going to be in DeSoto County.
